will have the opportunity to pet lives bunnies, visit with the

Flora Fest - Saturday, April 17, 2010. 9 am to 2 pm. Charlotte County Master Gardeners will hold their annual sale of herbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Other activities include a lecture series with speakers presenting at 9 am, 10 am, & 11 am. The Southside Herb Society will also be hosting an herbal luncheon scheduled for 12:30 pm. (Tickets to the luncheon are $12 and will be sold in advance.) Proceeds benefit community gardening and education projects. The Friends of the Charlotte County Library will hold a used book sale in the small brick building behind the main library branch at 112 LeGrande Avenue in Charlotte Court House. Inventory includes a large selection of adult fiction and non-fiction and children's books, all at bargain prices. Proceeds benefit Charlotte County's libraries. Historic Garden Week in Virginia at Red Hill - April 17 through 25, 2010. Make plans to visit Red Hill during Virginia’s Historic Garden Week, sponsored by The Garden Club of Virginia. Naturalization Ceremony at Red Hill - Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11am. The Patrick Henry National Memorial will host its fourth annual naturalization ceremony. Forty applicants will be sworn in and welcomed as our newest U.S. citizens. Guest speaker will be Congressman Tom Perriello. Seating begins at 10:30 a.m., with the ceremony commencing at 11:00 A.M.. Sappony Indian River Festival - Saturday, June 5, 2010, 9 am to 4 pm at the Staunton River Battlefield State Park, 1021 Fort Hill Drive, Randolph. Event includes native dancing, arts and food; planting demonstrations; birds of prey exhibit, and more. Visitors can also participate in a canoe trip down the scenic Staunton River ($15 fee - call to register) and see Longwood University's archeological study site. General admission is $6. No coolers will be allowed. Staunton River Battle Commemoration - Friday, June 25,2010 & Saturday, June 26, 2010. On the 25th enjoy a wagon ride through the low grounds at sunset and a cannon firing demonstration. Saturday's activities begin at 9 am and include a Confederate encampment, musket & cannon firing, music, a United Daughters of the Confederacy medal presentation, interpretive programs, and more.
