Southside Virginia Community College:


Offers seven convenient locations.  The John H. Daniel campus in Keysville, Virginia, provides Charlotte County residents the opportunity to obtain quality education close to home. 

Has provided "dual-enrollment" courses for over twenty years, allowing Charlotte County's high school students to take courses from college faculty, earning both high school & college credits.
 

Offers advanced education opportunities through their TELETECHNET partnership with Old Dominion University, allowing students to earn a bachelor's or master's degree locally from a fully-accredited university.


Additional Educational Opportunities

Hampden-Sydney College
Founded in 1775, Hampden-Sydney College is a private, four-year, independent liberal arts college for men located in neighboring Prince Edward County.  Hampden-Sydney enrolls approximately 1,100 students and boasts a student/faculty ratio of eleven to one.


Longwood University
Founded in 1839, Longwood University is a coeducational, comprehensive state institution located in Farmville, Virginia (Prince Edward County.)  The university offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.  Longwood's undergraduate enrollment is approximately 3,900 and the university was recently recognized as one of the nation's best college buys in the national publication "America's 100 Best College Buys".

Charlotte Adult Learning Center
The Charlotte Adult Learning Center was founded in 1986 to help illiterate adults in Charlotte County and surrounding areas learn to read. Since then, the organization has grown to include classes in preGED® and GED®, English as a Second Language, basic computer literacy, writing, money management, health literacy, and public speaking.
