APRIL IS NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS MONTH
On Thursday, April 1, employees of the Charlotte County Department of Social Services came together to make a visible commitment to preventing child abuse and helping create great childhoods nationwide by wearing blue. The agency will have different activities throughout the month of April to bring awareness to the fight of preventing child abuse.

VACCINATION REGISTRATION 

If you are interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccination, please register by visiting  www.vaccinate.virginia.gov or by using one of the other methods below if you have not already done so.

The Virginia Dept. of Health and other vaccination providers will be using this official registry to schedule vaccination appointments as vaccines become available locally.  (The first VDH drive-thru vaccination clinic for the county was held on March 26th.)

Transportation for Seniors for Vaccination Clinic

Piedmont Senior Resources is partnering with Virginia Department of Health to transport homebound seniors age 65 and older to county COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

 If you or someone you know is 65 or older & needs transportation to a county vaccination clinic, please have them call Piedmont Senior Resource's Vaccination Hotline at 434-394-0609 and leave their name, address, date of birth, and phone number. This service is free for older adults.

APRIL IS LITTER PICK-UP MONTH
IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY

 Help keep Charlotte County beautiful!

The Board of Supervisors has designated April as Charlotte County's litter pick-up month. To assist citizens interested in litter pick-up, heavy-duty collection bags are available at all county recycling centers & the County Administration Office during business hours.  In addition, the Administration Office has a limited quantity of safety vests and signs that can be borrowed. If needed, VDOT will pick up bags of collected litter. To schedule bag pick-up by VDOT call 1-800-367-7623.

INTERNET ACCESS LOCATIONS

 The Charlotte County Library is now offering educational internet outreach, with free wi-fi internet access at multiple locations in the County.  For more information, please see the program flyer.

This service is made possible with CARES grant funding administered by The Library of Virginia and The Institute of Museum and Library Services, and with the support of the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors.

A new wi-fi hotspot has also been installed at the old Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department building and is now operational.
