Hamlett, Chairman Director of Emergency Management 434-542-5117 dwitt@charlottecountyva.gov DECLARATION OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY CORONAVIRUS 2019 (COVID-19) The County of Charlotte has enacted a Declaration of Local Emergency in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The local declaration is effective Monday, March 16, 2020 at 4:28 p.m. The declaration follows Governor Northam’s State Declaration of Emergency and President Trump’s National Emergency Declaration. A local declaration allows the County of Charlotte to maximize preparedness and response efforts regarding COVID-19. During this local emergency, Charlotte County will make every effort to provide uninterrupted essential services to our citizens. We encourage our citizens to check the County website at www.charlotteva.com as we continue to share information about county facilities and services. Charlotte County's Temporary Operational Changes to Protect Public Health |
Effective May 29th individuals inside
business and public facilities are required to wear a face covering
or mask in accordance with
Executive Order Sixty-Three
and with the exceptions noted in the order. Charlotte County's temporary operational changes, outlined in the documents below and designed to protect public health and encourage social distancing are also still in place. Those visiting County offices are asked to abide by these procedures to protect the health of themselves, County employees and others. Due to continuing concerns regarding COVID-19, citizens are still encouraged to contact County staff by telephone, e-mail or fax during normal business hours whenever possible to conduct necessary business. |
