Meetings for the Board of Supervisors
The Board of Supervisors' regular monthly meeting is scheduled for the second Monday of each month.  Meetings held in odd numbered months (January, March, May, July, September, & November) are held at 1:30 pm.  While meetings occurring in even numbered months (February, April, June, August, October and December) are held at 6:00 pm.  Meetings are held in the Board Room of the County Administration Office, 250 LeGrande Avenue, Suite A, Charlotte Court House, Virginia, 23923 unless otherwise advertised.
 
Public Comment Policy
The Board of Supervisors is committed to allowing members of the public the opportunity to offer comments and suggestions for the efficient and effective administration of government. A special time is set aside at the beginning and end of each Board meeting for the purpose of receiving such comments and suggestions. All individuals speaking during the public comment periods are subject to the County's public comment policy.
 
Special Notices
Notice Regarding COVID-19 Procedures

General:  
Seating in the boardroom is limited due to social distancing requirements. Seating in the boardroom allows for approximately twenty people total to be present at a meeting.  Seating is available on a first come first serve basis.  Attendees MUST sit in a designated seat allowing for six (6) feet of separation.  Masks are required in accordance with Virginia's Executive Order 63 and temperatures will be taken at the door prior to entry.

Public Comments:  
In Person:  Comments can be presented in person at public meetings and hearings in accordance with the public comment policy. If someone wishing to provide public comment is unable to get a seat in the boardroom, they may still sign up to speak. The individual will then need to wait outside until they are notified by staff that the Board is ready for them to present their comments.

In Writing:  Public comments for meetings and hearings can also be provided in writing. Written comments can be e-mailed to publiccomments@charlottecountyva.gov or can be delivered to the Administration Office; or mailed to PO Box 608, Charlotte Court House, VA, 23923. All comments provided in writing need to identify the hearing or meeting the comments pertain to and must include the provider’s name and address.  Written comments should not exceed 500 words.

By Phone:  Telephone voicemail comments can be left to be played back at the meeting or hearing by dialing (434) 542-5118.  Commenters are asked to note that a three minute time limit will apply to public comments during public hearings. Individuals need to identify the hearing or meeting the comments pertain to and must include their name and address.   Comments received in writing or by voicemail are due by 12:00 p.m. the day of the meeting.  The three minute time limit  (see public comment policy) will apply to comments left on voicemail.  

Live Audio Stream & Audio Recordings:
The County is providing live audio streaming for meetings and public hearings.  Live audio is accessible by phone or on-line.   The call-in number is 1-312-626-6799.  Each meeting has a unique ID number and password which can be obtained  prior to the meeting by calling 434-542-5117 or e-mailing staff.  Additionally, all meetings are recorded and the audio files will be posted below within a day or two of the meeting.

WORK SESSION

The Charlotte County Board of Supervisors will hold a budget work session to discuss the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 consolidated budget on April 6, 2021, at 6:00 pm in the boardroom of the County Administration Office at 250 LeGrande Avenue, Suite A, Charlotte Court House, Virginia.

This work session is open to the public.  Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, limited seating is available on a first come first serve basis.  Attendees must follow the County’s current COVID-19 operating procedures.  The work session will also be available by livestream.   Livestream call-in or on-line access information can be obtained at the County Administration Office at the above address or by calling 434-542-5117.     
 
Public Hearings
NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION  

The Charlotte County Board of Supervisors and the Charlotte County Planning Commission will conduct a joint public hearing on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 6:05 pm or as soon thereafter as possible, at the Charlotte County Administration Office, 250 LeGrande Avenue, Suite A, Charlotte Court House, VA.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment regarding Kerwin and Beverly Kunath’s application for a conditional use permit for a barn-style event & wedding venue on property identified as Tax Map  #53-A-18B, located at 4475 Highway 59, Keysville, Virginia.  The Planning Commission will meet immediately following this hearing to consider the application, after which the Board of Supervisors may act on it.   

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, limited seating is available on a first come first serve basis.  Persons affected may present their views at the hearing or may provide comments in writing or on voicemail by calling 434-542-5118.  Written comments can be delivered to the Administration Office; mailed to PO Box 608, Charlotte Court House, VA, 23923; or emailed to publiccomments@charlottecountyva.gov and should identify the subject and the commenter’s name & address.  The hearing will also be live-streamed.  Application details and livestream access information can be obtained in the County Administration Office at the above address during business hours or by calling (434) 542-5117.
